It’s important to reflect on the work you’ve completed to evaluate what worked well and what needs improvement. Leantime’s built-in project retrospective template gives your team the space to do just that.

The Project Retrospective View

To begin filling out the built-in template, navigate to the Retrospectives tab in the project bar on the left side of the screen. Leantime automatically creates a project retrospective for you named "Board," but you can easily change the name by clicking the three dots in the top right corner and selecting "Edit." Enter a name for your new template and click "Save."

The Project Retrospective consists of three columns: Continue, Stop, and Improve. To add your insights, click the "+ Add New" button within each column. Describe what went well, what should be discontinued, and areas that need improvement. Remember to save your notes after providing the descriptions!

Once you've saved your notes, you can attach them to a milestone. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the tile and select "Edit." From there, you can attach an existing milestone or create a new one. See here for more on milestone creation. You can also add comments to your idea in the "Discussion" section.

Creating a New Project Retrospective Template

You can create new retrospectives by clicking the drop-down arrow next to your current template's name. From there select “Create New Board”, enter a name for your new retrospective template, then click “Create Board”.

Deleting a Retrospective

If you want to delete an existing note on a retrospective, select the three dots in the top right corner of the notes’ tile and choose "Delete." A box will pop up asking if you're sure you want to delete the idea. If you're ready to part with it, select "Yes, delete!"

If you're ready to retire an entire retrospective, click the three dots in the top right corner of the screen and select "Delete."
